Interpretive Program Descriptions

Attraction to the Rockies: A Love Affair Begins
Come and find out about some famous Banff characters, what drew them to this beautiful place and how their stories were shaped by the Canadian Rockies, and see if perhaps, you will experience that connection too. (Tuesday Tunnel Theatre, Thursday Village Theatre)

From Vision to Reality: Banff National Park Then and Now
If the first Commissioner of Canadian National Parks arrived in modern day Banff, what would he think, feel or say about the vast changes that occurred over the past 100 years? Let Nathalie the warden and “JB” the commissioner take you on a trip through the ages, with the help of vivid then-and-now photography, exploring management issues of this amazing park! (Wednesday, Friday Tunnel & Village Theatres)

Horns and Antlers
The greatest poets continually refer to antlers as "horns". A park interpreter will help you resolve this common misconception through fun games, on stage participation and a chance to handle horns and antler displays as you will learn more about Banff's deer, sheep and goats. The program includes a short film featuring the bighorn sheep of Banff National Park. (Sunday Tunnel Theatre)

Mandatory Adventure
Join park interpreter Ryan Bray as he shares his personal, adrenaline-filled adventures and learn how they are connected to this park and its mandate, and how you too can find your own connections through your experiences within this beautiful National Park. (Monday Tunnel Theatre)

Supersnail: Superhero of Survival in Banff National Park
It isn’t faster than a speeding bullet, it certainly isn’t more powerful than a locomotive and it definitely isn’t able to leap off tall buildings in a single bound BUT it is the Supersnail! Find out about the story of this most endangered species of Banff National Park and discover its superpowers, the daily challenges it faces and the network of superheroes it relies on to survive. (Monday, Saturday Tunnel Theatre & Tuesday, Saturday Village Theatre)

The Hike is Right
Come on down to The Hike is Right, as you are the next contestant to test your knowledge on how to safely hike in the mountain parks. This high energy and fun interpretive program will give you safety and bear awareness tips and get you ready for day hikes in the front country. (Sunday Village Theatre)

The Show About Flow
On your trip to and through Banff, flow is essential in getting to your destination. It's the same thing for wildlife, who’s survival often depends on getting to a certain place! Join park interpreter Kevin Gedling for a look at flowing connections and the work that goes into making animal movement as smooth as possible! (Thursday Village Theatre)

Mountain World Heritage Theatre presents: Faces of Fire
Laugh and learn as this dynamic trio of actors takes you on a journey into the heart of wildfire in Banff National Park.
