Mount King Prescribed Fire

The Mount King Prescribed Burn Unit (1900 hectares) is located in the lower Kicking Horse River Valley in Yoho National Park, about 10 km. southwest of the community of Field. This burn is scheduled to proceed after August 15, 2008, weather permitting. The purpose of the Mount King burn is to help protect people and property from wildfire and to restore the historic fire cycle in the Kicking Horse Valley.
